I am a Wiccan priest, spiritual teacher, and author.
Raised Zen Buddhist, I started my spiritual journey in high school. For 10 years, I looked at different religions, trying to find one that made sense to me. In addition to my native Zen, I tried Christianity, New Age, Quakerism, Taoism and others, before eventually settling on Wicca. My search opened my eyes, not only to the rich diversity of the world’s religions, but to the commonality among them. There are deeply spiritual people all over the world, in countless religions. Most are just ordinary people, but they have one thing in common: they believe, profoundly, in being good. All over the world, there are people who want to be good, not to please their families, to follow the rules of their society, or exactly out of fear of God, but because they feel a deep calling within their souls to be. Over 15 years ago, I was ordained a Wiccan priest. Ever since then, I have been fascinated with so many different people from so many different religions loving goodness and using diverse techniques to bring them closer to it. My latest project, “The Religion of Good,” is my humble inquiry into how we can all use spiritual techniques to build a personal relationship with the Good.
